Busy May
It's been a very exciting month at The Altenheim. We kicked off our derby celebration by attending the Senior Derby Dance at the Jeffersonian. We had our annual wheelchair races and the Run for the Rose'. After our May derby festivities, we had our Mother's Day tea and our evening concert with the Holy Name Band. Next on the agenda is a day at Churchill Down's. Check out our facebook posts of these events!

HistoryThe Altenheim

In the early 1900s the Goodwill Circle of St. John’s Evangelical Church recognized the need for a home to care for their elders.  The idea was discussed by a group of interested members from St. John’s Church.  This group of members purchased the “Stewart” family home with four surrounding acres and The Altenheim was organized in 1906!

Today, over 100 years later, The Altenheim campus has been through many changes in keeping up with the changing health care needs of seniors.  The Altenheim is bright, modern, updated and well equipped to meet the needs of a variety of residents.  Our priority is to focus on the dignity and well-being of our residents.  We pride ourselves on the individualized care our staff respectfully offers each resident.
