Is The Altenheim part of a national chain or corporation?

The Altenheim is a non-profit private corporation managed by a volunteer board of directors from the Louisville area along with a licensed nursing home administrator.

Does The Altenheim have an initial application fee?

There is no application or move in fees for our senior living community. We are a nursing facility with other options more than assisted living or personal care.

Does The Altenheim have any additional charges that we need to be aware of?

There are charges for medical supplies, medications, treatments and therapies. Many healthcare services can be billed to Medicare plans.

Are medications administered by qualified staff?

All medications are administered under the supervision of registered nurses. We have registered nurses and licensed nurses on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Does The Altenheim offer therapies?

The Altenheim offers physical, occupational, speech and respiratory/oxygen therapy; most rehabilitation therapy services are billable to Medicare Part B and supplemental policies regardless of level of care.

Does The Altenheim offer activities?

The Altenheim has a vast array of activities to meet our residents’ individual educational, recreational, social and spiritual needs. We have many outings in the community, utilizing our bus that has wheelchair accommodations. We also have a growing number of volunteers who offer a variety of engaging programs for our residents.

Does The Altenheim offer cable TV and Wi-Fi?

The Altenheim does provide basic cable and Wi-Fi at no additional charge. We also have a computer available for resident use.

Does the Altenheim allow pets?

Depending on the level of care you need, and if you are able to care for your pet, we will consider each pet on an individual basis. A pet deposit is required.
